AI interview assistant for Zoom
Kinterview listens to your Zoom interview through your computer’s audio, transcribes each question and streams a tailored answer into a floating window that Zoom’s screen share and recording cannot see. Nothing joins the meeting, and there is no Zoom app or plugin to install.
How it works with Zoom
- No meeting bot: Kinterview never joins the Zoom call, so no extra participant appears in the attendee list.
- System audio capture: on macOS it uses Apple’s ScreenCaptureKit; on Windows it uses WASAPI loopback on your default speaker device.
- Hidden window: on macOS the answer window is excluded from screen capture (NSWindow sharing type “none”); on Windows it uses the WDA_EXCLUDEFROMCAPTURE display affinity.
- Works with the Zoom desktop client and Zoom in the browser.
Set up Kinterview for a Zoom interview
- Download Kinterview for macOS or Windows and sign in.
- Paste the job description and upload your resume so answers match the role.
- On macOS, allow Screen & System Audio Recording for Kinterview when prompted — this is how it hears Zoom.
- On Windows, in Zoom → Settings → Audio, choose the same speaker that is your Windows default output device.
- Start a Kinterview session, then join the Zoom meeting as usual. Answers stream in as the interviewer speaks.
Screen sharing in Zoom
Whether you choose “Screen” or a single window in Zoom’s Share Screen dialog, the Kinterview window is left out of what participants see. The same applies to Zoom cloud and local recordings.
Tip: before a real interview, start a test meeting, share your screen and check the preview — you should see your desktop without the Kinterview window.
Frequently asked questions
Does Kinterview need a Zoom integration or plugin?
No. It captures audio at the operating-system level, so it works with any Zoom version without connecting to your Zoom account.
Can other participants see Kinterview when I share my screen on Zoom?
No. The answer window is excluded from screen capture, so it does not appear in Zoom screen shares or recordings.
Does it work if I use headphones?
Yes. On macOS system audio is captured regardless of the output device. On Windows, make sure your headphones are the default output device and selected as Zoom’s speaker.
